Abstract: The conference will explain the development of the MLSCs (Mathematics Learning Support Centres) of Loughborough University and the work we do in student support. It will relate « student support in mathematics » to « mathematics teaching » addressing how forms of support can relate to traditional forms of teaching. It will raise issues and invite discussion on how teachers go about enabling student understanding of concepts in mathematics.
